KIPP Forward Team

The KIPP Forward team helps alumni keep moving forward, tackling academic, social, and financial challenges they might encounter while pursuing their dreams.

Rita Bradunas, Director of KIPP Forward

My role on the team: I lead the KIPP Forward team in setting and accomplishing our goals for the over 1,000 students and alumni that we serve. I engage in long-term planning and seek feedback from our students, families, and the KIPP community to ensure that we are constantly improving, innovating, and focusing on priorities that matter most to our students. I work with the regional leadership and external partners to maximize our effectiveness and to acquire the funding we need to do our work. I oversee our budget and work to ensure it is handled responsibly.

Contact me if... you have questions about the KIPP Forward program overall, both in Baltimore and nationally, if you are looking for some of our big-picture data, as well as if you are interested in the history and evolution of the work that we do.

High School Placement

Nancy Poole Manager of High School Placement

My role on the team: In my work with the middle school, I support 8th grade students and families in understanding the high school options that are available, applying to various high schools, navigating financial aid and preparing for the transition to high school. It is my pleasure to help our families navigate the high school application process and I look forward to helping you identify the best high school placement for your scholar.

Contact me if... you have questions about the high school placement process, applying to schools, and what schools will be the best fit for your KIPPster.

High School Support

Jahmoni Bartee Manager of High School Support

Isaiah Ball Manager of High School Support

Our role on the team: We support alumni who are in the 9th and 10th grade as they begin their high school careers and prepare for their next steps after high school. We help alumni navigate the academic and socio-emotional transition to high school. We also facilitate students’ exploration of personal interests and strengths, guiding students as they start to match their passions to possible careers and postsecondary pathways.

Contact us if... you have questions about study skills, time management, accessing resources in your high school or interested in exploring your career and college interest.

Career & College Advising

Kenyatta Austin Manager of Career and College Advising

Quincy Barnes Manager of Career and College Advising

Our role on the team: We support KIPP alums as they plan their post-secondary journeys. We assist students with the college and career program wishlist, application, financial aid and matriculation process. In addition, we build relationships with high school guidance counselors, community organizations and college admission teams to create a stronger network of support for our students. During the summer, we run the Countdown to College program for our rising high school Seniors, during which alumni have the opportunity to earn a college credit from the University of Baltimore and attend KIPP Forward Sessions in which they get a head start on the college application process. We also invite 10th and 11th grade alums to connect with us when needed, and we encourage them to engage in our KIPP Forward Connector meetings throughout the year.

Contact us if... you have questions about the college placement process, or would like support with tasks such as creating a college wishlist, applying to schools, completing the FAFSA, or finding out about scholarship opportunities. HS Juniors – please be in touch with us to learn more about our Countdown to College program, and how you can participate next summer!

Alumni Persistence

Brianna Callahan Manager of Alumni Persistence

Darius Morgan Manager of Alumni Persistence

Our role on the team: We work to help KIPP Baltimore alums successfully navigate their lives after high school and realize their individual educational and professional goals. We meet with post-secondary alumni by phone, or on campus if they are college-enrolled, to assist with career planning, financial aid, academics, and socio-emotional needs. During the summers we support post-secondary students as they complete matriculation into their intended education, military, or certification pathway. The alumni persistence team is committed to supporting students of all pathways, including CTE, military, college and more.

Contact us if... you have questions about enrolling in a college, trade, or certification program, the KIPP book scholarships, or anything else related to career or college success.
