Learning Platform Support

During this time of distance learning, KIPP Baltimore will be utilizing several online platforms. Below, you will find help & support links to the various platforms if you find yourself having trouble getting connected.

Zoom

Common Faqs

Q1: How do I sign up for a Zoom meeting?

You can join a meeting by clicking the meeting link or going to join zoom.us and entering the meeting ID given to you by the zoom host (your child’s teacher).

Q2: How do I join computer/device audio:?

On most devices, you can join computer/device audio by clicking Join Audio, join with Computer Audio, or Audio to access the audio settings.

Q3: Can you use a bluetooth headset?

Yes, as long as the Bluetooth device is compatible with the computer or mobile device that you are using.

Q4: Do I have to have a webcam to join on Zoom?

While you are not required to have a webcam to join a Zoom meeting or Webinar, you will not be able to present a video of yourself. You will continue to be able to listen and speak during the meeting, share your screen, and view the webcam video of other participants.

Q5: Why is my webcam and audio not working?

Make sure that you have unblocked audio and webcam permission on your device.

Google Classroom

Common Faqs

Q1: Why can I not sign into the Classroom?

You might be trying to sign into the Classroom with the wrong account. Check that you’re using the email account connected to Classroom. Make sure you are signing in with your child’s account.

Q2: My access code does not work/I deleted my access code/I deleted my class invitation.

Ask your teacher to send you a new class code.

Q3: I cannot post a comment.

Your teacher turned off posting for the class. Ask your teacher for more information.

Q4: My access code does not work.

Ask your teacher to send you a new class code.

Class Dojo

RAZ Kids

Common Faqs

Q1: I am having trouble registering my child.

Log into Kids A-Z as your child to request access and be sure to click on the icon given to you by their teacher.

Q2: My child doesn’t know their teacher’s username OR their own password. How can I get it?

Reach out to one of your child’s teachers to get this information. It may also be posted on their Google Classroom page, or on Clever.

Q3: Why does my child’s screen look different from the video?

In the video, you see the “primary” homescreen, used for K-2. Grades 3-5 have the “intermediate” homescreen (students can get to books by clicking on “Reading” at the top of the screen on a computer, or from the bottom on the app).

Zearn

Common Faqs

Q1: I am having trouble accessing Zearn.

Check that you are using an up-to-date browser. Zearn supports recent versions of Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Internet Explorer, and Microsoft Edge. Note that browsers may not automatically update depending on network permissions. After updating, you may need a hard restart to ensure up-to-date versions.

Check to make sure you are working on a compatible device. Zearn is web-based and works great on computers (desktop or laptop, Windows or Mac), Chromebooks, and iPads and iPads minis (iOS 8+). There is no app to use Zearn. Currently, Zearn does not support Android devices.

Try logging out of Zearn, clearing your browser’s cache, restarting your browser, and logging on again.

Clever.com

Log-in to Clever for additional resources (not necessarily lessons or work assigned by teachers). Sign in to the Clever Portal with your student’s credentials. Most students follow the email pattern firstname.lastname@kippbmore.org, but your teacher should let you know if your student does not follow the pattern. Reach out to your student’s teacher if your student does not remember their password.
